  15. OK, I was going to leave this alone, because it has nothing to do
  16. with animation, but this really amazes me:

  25. A 1.5k x 1.5k image blown up to 16x20 gives an output dpi of less
  26. than 100!!. Even at 150dpi you can clearly see pixelisation and
  27. colour banding, so I would hate to have to put up with something 
  28. less than that. Just because people buy them doesn't mean that 
  29. the images are decent at that size (hey, I know, people will buy
  30. anything).

  32. I'm not trying to knock anyone here, but it does amaze me that many
  33. people seem quite content to put up with lower quality. Saying an
  34. image 'looks great' at a low resolution without having the same image 
  35. at a higher res for comparison makes the whole process meaningless.
  36. I'm glad that Lightwave now supports high-res output, and I hope 
  37. some of you will take the chance to see how much better that looks
  38. once you've put an image through all the dot gain and associated
  39. degredations involved in print work.
